Indoor Picnic

Spring is almost here, so they say, but it hasn't been warmer than 35 degrees so far this week. So, I decided to let spring in a little early by having a picnic. I was inspired by Jes' picnic in the snow, but decided to do it minus the cold. I took out a picnic basket, candles & a blanket & set everything up the livingroom to surprise Tom when he came home from work. The menu included fennel & carrot soup, corn on the cob, mashed sweet potatoes, baked cornflake chicken & my first attempt at an apple crisp. Tom took one look at everything & said, "Have you been cooking all day!?" Yes, I was, but sometimes I can get so into a creative project, whether it's cooking or crafts, that time flies by. Other times it(cooking especially) can feel like such a chore.

I'm just checking to see if the comment section is working. It is but it's very slow. What's wrong with blogger?!?

Cooooome to TypePad, Dawn...coooome to TypePad...ha! I imagine TP might have its wonky moments, too...but it CAN'T be worse than Blogger. That said, it's not free like Blogger...although there is a 30-day free trial. It's just happened so many times during the 18 months I used Blogger...I grew tired of it...

Your picnic sounds fab, Ms. Dawn! That looks like my mum's apple crisp- we'll have to compare recipes sometime.

Peer pressure from me on Blogger v. Typepad, too- It took me a couple of tries to post this comment, and sometimes what I write never shows up on Blogger posts. I've never had problems leaving comments on Typepad blogs, including my own, so I'll join the ranks and chant, "Come over to the Typepad side, Dawn!".

What a GREAT idea to have a picnic in the livingroom! And even better idea to have an elegant picnic in the livingroom! Well done.

As for Blogger being slow - here I thought it was my system that was slowing things down! You know it could be because of March break - zillions of extra people suddenly logging on because they aren't in school.

If your webhost allows you to use .php, you could also try wordpress. It's almost as good as typepad AND it's free....
