That's What Friends Are For

Tis the season to give a shout out to the ones that we love. Tom & I are blessed with some amazing friends in our lives. Everyone is super busy and we wish we could see them all more often, but we do treasure that times that we have together.

My dear, dear friend Jes stopped by for a quick weekend visit a while back. Can you believe we met through blogging just over a few years ago? It feels as if we've known each other forever. We definitely have a sister like relationship. I really miss her and wished she lived closer. She spoiled me with fabulous goodies. A Junque Revival necklace that I've been eyeing since I went to stay with her in Maine. Now it's all mine. Who's a lucky girl?

Another blogging buddy of Jes' was visiting NYC that same weekend. Lea & her hubby Pasi came all the way from Finland. We met up with them on a Saturday night & I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I had never met them before, or even corresponded through their blogs. I wondered if it would be a bit awkward. Well, to my surprise and delight, we all instantly hit it off. They are a wonderful, intelligent couple. Lea is a sweet blue eyed blonde beauty & Pasi is lively & adorable. They brought Tom & I fabulous gifts from their homeland. Chocolates, jam, rye crisps, hard liquorice candy. Lea, who is a jewelry artist, made me a gorgeous pair of earrings. I've worn them dozens of times already. We had a nice dinner at Fig & Olive. Tom then took us to some cool Meat Packing District bars & lounges. We laughed, danced, drank lots & really connected. Tom & Pasi had some serious male bonding action. They were hugging by the end of the night. We do hope they come back to visit us soon. Or maybe our next trip will have to be to Helsinki.

Jes & I went on a Brooklyn shopping adventure with Mary. Mary is that friend who knows where to find anything that you're looking for. From homemade olive bread to a hand crafted skirt by an indie designer. She's the queen of speciality shops, fabulous boutiques & great little cafes. I'm sending her hubby Eric a big Congratulations on the opening of his very own dance studio. Not only is he a fabulous dancer & teacher, but he also designed my biz website & Tom's, too! What a talent!

And last but certainly not least, our pals Caryl & Mike welcomed their sweet son Anthony into the world a few weeks back. He's joined by his adorable 4 year old sister Jacqui. What a Christmas they will be having!
