Leonardo Felix Kettells

Our little boy finally arrived on Tuesday August 5th at 12:13am. Leo weighed in at 7lbs, 6 oz & 20 inches long. I won't go too far into the gory birthing details, but I ended up having a C section after pushing for almost 4 hours. My pelvis was just too small & he was basically stuck. Leo came out with his eyes wide open & was very alert. He definitely recognized my voice & Tom's too. We spent lots of time talking & singing to him while he was in my belly.

I wanted an Italian first name and we chose Leonardo because our favorite artist is Leonardo DaVinci. Tom took me to Paris for my 30th B-Day to go to the Louvre and see the Mona Lisa. It was a beautiful moment that I'll never forget. His middle name Felix is in honor of my late grandfather Felix Zito. We think he already has some of his great grandfather's traits, esp. his appetite. I'm having a difficult time keeping up with the little guy. He's always hungry.

Right now I'm just trying to get the hang of breast feeding (it's not easy) & recover. Walking around the block is quite a feat. I'll keep you posted on Leo's progress. Thank you everyone for the well wishes.
